The mission of the St. Louis Hero Network is, in part, to partner with local organizations, businesses, and charities and work together towards one common and simple goal: support our heroes. The St. Louis Whiskey Society, Ten8 Project, and Tapawingo Golf Club are three organizations helping us help our heroes. In November 2019, we had an idea for an event far bigger than a bourbon tasting and so much more than just another fundraiser. Today, we’re proud to work alongside these groups to bring you Bourbon for Badges.
The 4th Annual Bourbon for Badges event: A Tasting Benefiting St. Louis First Responders, will be held at Tapawingo Golf Club on March 22, 2024. It’s an evening to come together and show support for the people in our communities who put their lives on the line each and every day to serve and protect: police, firefighters, EMS, and our local military veterans.
This year, the St. Louis Hero Network, St. Louis Whiskey Society, and Ten8 Project bring you an evening of food, fun, and fellowship in the spirits. The evening will feature a full line up of tastings from award-winning distilleries all over.
There will be seasoned mixologists to serve specialty cocktails, heavy hors d’oeuvres, open bar, live music, an open auction, 50/50 raffle, and more.
The St. Louis Hero Network is a nonprofit organization founded by firefighters and veterans with a mission to support local heroes, their families, and their businesses. Since it was founded in 2018, the St. Louis Hero Network has provided financial support to families of fallen heroes in their time of need, collaborated with similar organizations, and given first responders and veterans a place to promote their business. Hiring a hero from within the network is a way to thank a hero for their service and sacrifice.
“10:8” is the police code meaning “In Service” – used to alert an officer reporting for duty. It symbolizes the physical presence and also mental and emotional readiness to do the task at hand. The vision of Ten8 Project is to provide tools and corresponding training that will improve the lives of the public safety professionals, ensuring they have the utmost preparation to be in service, as well as improve the lives of the residents in the areas they serve.
