This 16 hour lecture / DVD driven course is designed to review, organize, and prioritize the essential skills of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). It helps the healthcare professional who responds to pediatric emergencies with information needed to recognize, prevent, and respond to infants and children in respiratory failure, shock, or cardiopulmonary arrest. Prerequisite: The applicant must be 18 years of age, HS graduate or completed GED, and provide current recognition as a BLS Healthcare Provider. Recognition: Successful completion of this course provides American Heart Association PALS Provider recognition, a certificate of completion and 16 hours of continuing education credit as recognized by the Unit of EMS for the State of Missouri and 16 hours of continuing education credit as recognized by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
